An Edgy Elopement with Peace, Love & Rock-N-Roll

Peace, Love & Rock-n-Roll

We all need a little edgy rock in our lives. For Tiffany of Sashem Photography, it comes in the form of her 4 year old singing Death-Metal Lullabys. For Me, it's more of a dull roar in the background that binds my personality together. Between the two of us, we knew we needed a little more rock in our lives and Tiffany birthed the idea of this elopement.

It started by looking for something more edgy than many of the styled shoots we'd seen recently. We both love a good styled shoot to fill in the blank spaces of the winter months, but each one we came across held a hefty price tag and the restrictions on them didn't sit well with either of us. We started with the dress, one Tiffany had her eye on for a while and I happened to have purchased last summer for another shoot and ended up not using it. The shoes came from my closet and the couple were introduced to us through a mutual vendor-friend I had met the previous year through The Rising Tide Society and The Perpetual You

Alisha & Josh were perfection. He had the hipster-spunk we were looking for, and she resembles a gorgeous tattooed mermaid. Together they completed our vision for this session and brought it to life with a love that runs incredibly deep. The time we spent with them was full of laughter, smiles and excitement. You'd never know the entire thing had been staged.

From the detail shots we took in the old Graffiti Garage, to the dancing in the courtyard and followed up with a visit to Firemen's Park in Tacoma, this styled shoot really allowed Tiffany and I to connect through our photography, both as individuals and as a team. I look forward to many more real weddings and styled shoots with this brilliant woman!
