Welcome, we're Markie + Jake

I (Markie) started this company as a one woman show with the help of my artist mom and eldest daughter, until 2019 when Jake joined to make us a husband and wife team.

Since then, we’ve connected with couples who love to goof off while still being a little sappy when it comes to how much they love each other.

About

Our Family Cliff Notes

Jake and I have technically been married twice, to EACH OTHER! We secretly eloped in 2017 after our engagement (for insurance purposes) and then had our “official” wedding in 2018. I’d also been married once before that, so I’m pretty sure that (along with our 13+ years of experience makes us wedding planning pros. (Side note: Out of three total weddings, one was super traditional (my first wedding), one was super offbeat (our elopement) and the third combined some traditional elements into our offbeat costume party wedding.

+ We are a family of SIX! Our eldest, Emillia will be 14 in 2024. Our middle kiddos, Gracie + Evan, will be 10 and 5. Then the baby of the family, Zeke, will be 3! We didn’t originally set out to have a big family, but God blessed us in ways we couldn’t have imagined with all these kiddos. (Find us on Insta @steinpartyofsix)

I (Markie) have always loved the wedding industry but didn’t start as a photographer. I completed a certification course in bridal consulting in 2005, and my Associates of Arts (Film Photography Focus) in 2006. My very first business license was for Shoestring Weddings however, I quickly learned I love dreaming up plans for weddings but the execution of all those wedding plans are best left to an A type personality. Instead, I fell in love with documenting the day and switched my focus in 2011 to wedding photography.

+ We’re slightly obsessed with Joanna Gaines, and Markie always laughs during most Fixer Upper episodes because Jake and Chip are two peas in a pod. While Markie enjoyed visiting the Silos at the Magnolia property in fall 2021, Jake still hasn’t gotten to Waco (yet). It’s on our couple’s travel bucket list for 2024/2025 and we’d be extremely honored if we’re there for a wedding.

Our family spends a lot of time on DIY projects, both for our home and have even built props for friends’ studios. Markie is making a hobby of woodworking and has started renovating our small 1300 sq foot home to make it feel less like a manufactured house and more like a cozy farm home.
